Why choose a childminder?
There are many options when looking for childcare, so why is a childminder the best option (in our opinion)?
Why not use a nursery or after school club?
A childminder is often:
More personal
Your child will receive care from the same person every day, rather than from staff on a rota system. Your child can build a meaningful relationship with their carer, as can the parents. Every day you will receive detailed, honest feedback.
More homely
Being in a home environment is extremely good for a child and been with a childminder enables them to do this even while their parents are at work. They will participate in a wide range of activities to enhance their development while been in the secure and comforting home environment and having the time they need to relax, play and have fun.
More flexible
Activities are likely to be more loosely structured and can be adapted easily to the children and the situation. There are less children so the activities will be tailored to your child’s specific needs, interests, development stage while working towards their next development stage.
More involved in the community
With a childminder your child will participate in a wide range of outing like play groups, libraries, play zones, parks, beaches, woods and many more. A childminder can offer a wide range of scenery and where possible the children getting the choice of where they might like to go.
More accommodating
A childminder can be available earlier in the morning and later in the evening than most nurseries and can offer more flexible hours. A childminder will pick up from various schools and offer wrap around care. Childminders are often available on bank holidays and out of term times.
Cost
They also charge by the hour so you are not left paying for time you do not use or need plus Sanford-Howard childcare offers a 15% full time placement discount.
Less intimidating
Sometime a nursery with lots of children can be quite frightening, especially for younger children. A childminder in their own home can be more friendly and inviting.
Continuity of care
Your child will be looked after in a warm loving home by the same two childminders every time they visit our setting rather than the possibility of seeing regular changes in staff in a nursery. If you intend on your children attending Kea school Sanford-Howard childcare can offer childcare and wrap around care until the end of their primary school education.
What we feel we can offer over other childminders
Most childminders work alone, where as we will be working together all most all of the time. Therefore you are getting two fully qualified childminders and as we are a husband and wife team we share the same passion for our job and business, we work well together as a strong partnership and are both committed to building an outstanding childcare setting and dedicating our lives to this profession. Your child will not be taken away from their play to do the school run, more time will be available to attend to their individual needs. If one of us got sick it is very likely your childcare service will not be affected, in the unlikely event of an emergency situation we will already have two people on hand to deal with the event.
Our aim is to enhance the lives of our own children while giving the children that attend our setting all the care and nourishment they need to be happy, play and have fun while their parents are at work. We have a good knowledge of the EYFS and feel it is a fundamental stepping stone onto school age education and we believe the early years is a great age to grab a Childs excitement to learn while having fun.
